Why I like Eclipse

While teaching a three-day course I upgraded Eclipse three times with absolutely no ill effects. There are two neat things here:

  • The Eclipse team rocks, adding features at an alarming pace
  • No fear of upgrading means I can always have the greatest features

It's similar to writing tests: they help you go faster. When it's painless to upgrade your toolset, that helps you go faster. I think it's great.

JUnit Recipes is nearing completion

After about 16 months of time and thousands of hours of effort, JUnit Recipes is finally in the home stretch, nearing completion. You can already download chapters through the Manning Early Access Program to get a sneak peek, before the print version comes out in July. I am quite excited to see, at long last, the final product.
